Beware of The HAIR DRYER HEAD VOICE!

It was a dark cold night on the foggy streets of MiMeMaMoMu-Ville.  The innocent, unsuspecting citizens of this sleepy, but FABULOUS, town were just tucking themselves into their seats at the junior high fall musical production of Peter Pan (or something like that). When the lights go down and the singing begins, a strange sound is heard as the young voices climb…it’s as if hair dryers were switching on all over their high notes!  “What is going on?!”, everyone gasps to themselves as they are all too polite to say anything discouraging in this “everyone gets a trophy” society we live in!  Fear and throat pain mounts as the production continues for the poor souls on stage who were not properly shown how to balance their breath support as they navigate their upper registers.  “What are we gonna do?!” concerned parents ask themselves quietly, and again, politely, for they know not what damage these “hair-dryer” voices are doing to their sweet innocent children and their vocal development.  “How can we ever defeat this dastardly beast before too much vocal damage is done?!”
